White crystalline powder. Melting point 94-96°C. It is easily soluble in water (1 part of this product is soluble in 0.5 part of water), very soluble in ethanol, acetone, chloroform, slightly soluble in benzene, and insoluble in ether. The taste is slightly bitter, deliquescence, and deteriorates when exposed to light.
